footprint to 4 facilities in 3 years.
This is a huge opportunity to help commission and scale a startup facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing and supporting home office engineering package development, including preparing designs and design information for FEL 1, 2 and 3 packages
Supporting plant construction through such activities as factory acceptance tests, inspecting equipment, walkdowns, and responding to construction RFIs
Use operational data, literature, and modeling to perform heat and material balance, estimate emissions data, design process equipment, and improve existing designs.
Prepare operating guidelines and develop design and operating procedures (normal, startup, shutdown, etc.
)
Perform process engineering tasks as needed to ensure design goals are met
Gain understanding of our proprietary downdraft and fluid bed gasifier designs and performance specifications
Build relationships with team members, contractors, vendors and suppliers
Ensure permitting activities and requirements are aligned and integrated with the design scope
Prepare and compile design package documentation
Obtain costing data, prepare and manage RFQs from Vendor and sub-vendors
Prepare bid tabs and review proposals
Field support work, including startup, commissioning, and project controls
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience)
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
5+ years working experience
Knowledge of or familiarity with gasification, gas processing, fluidized beds, and/or materials handling
Knowledge of project execution systems (Stage gate processes)
Preparing bidders list, evaluating technical proposals, generating bid tabulations, and recommending equipment for purchase
Troubleshooting process unit operations and in process improvement
Experience and exposure to equipment sizing
Startup and commissioning
Must be able to function well in a fast-paced environment under demanding deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.
Effective written/verbal communication
Required Skills
Application of engineering and process simulation software, such as Aspen, Hysys, Aspen CCE, Aspen EDR, and AutoCAD
Experience in moving projects through front end engineering and detailed design
Ability to do initial process controls design and work with controls engineer to finalize control scheme
Candidate should have demonstrated ability to set process specifications for equipment, prepare equipment datasheets and specifications, and work with vendors to find the correct equipment for a given application
Understanding cost estimating
Excellent innovative problem-solving skills
Good report writing and presentation skills
