Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in NG911 systems to join our team in Brooklyn, NY.
As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating, designing, and implementing network architecture solutions to support 9-1-1 call taking and dispatch environments.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with vendors, project managers, and colleagues to develop network standards, generating network architectures, and managing system lifecycle activities.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and recommend network architecture solutions based on performance, stability, availability, cost-efficiency, and development requirements for NG911 systems.
Develop, review, and update network architecture standards in collaboration with vendors and project managers.
Advise colleagues on network infrastructure design, policies, procedures, and best practices.
Generate conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures, test plans, requirements, and use cases.
Assist in the design, procurement, testing, cutover, and reporting activities.
Coordinate system lifecycle management, including asset configuration and security.
Manage the requirements management process, including elicitation and verification.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a senior-level audio/telephony systems Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Proficiency in network design and architecture, including topology design and scalability planning.
Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, and STP.
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite, subnetting, and IP addressing.
Experience in network troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and problem resolution techniques.
Familiarity with network protocols and standards including Ethernet, IPv6 implementation, and VLANs.
Proven track record in network documentation maintenance and report generation.
Minimum 12 years of experience in a specific technical and/or business application, product, platform, or methodology.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated learning agility and willingness to quickly adapt to new concepts and technologies.
