HNTB's Design Build (DB) Organization is seeking a talented and motivated BIM/VDC specialist at an intermediate level to join our dynamic team.
This role is tailored for professionals who have a solid foundation in engineering or architecture, coupled with experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) management and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).
In this role, you will be advancing beyond foundational applications of BIM and VDC technologies, taking on more complex tasks and responsibilities on mega and super mega design build projects.
The specialist will focus on effectively implementing BIM and VDC strategies, managing specific aspects of large-scale design build projects, and contributing to the innovative application of technology in our processes.
Key focus areas include: the development of 3D design models, supporting the administration of Projectwise/Autodesk Construction Cloud project sites, configuring BIM software, creating BIM content libraries, and leading clash detection and quality control processes.
This role demands an individual who can balance technical proficiency with project management skills, ensuring that BIM and VDC techniques are optimally integrated into our project workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
What You’ll Do: Serves as a project-level champion of BIM quality and execution.
Investigates, evaluate, and develop best practices and project team workflows.
Reviews design 3D models and project data for quality, organization, and performance.
Administrates BIM 360 project site and associated services (BIM 360 Docs, Design, Model Coordination, Field, etc.
) Coordinates and facilitates clash detection, QA/QC, and auditing design models across varied model authoring software.
Develops and maintains project BIM Execution Plan documents and templates.
Lead regular multi-disciplinary project BIM meetings.
Acts as liaison between HNTB and the client on BIM-related aspects of the project.
Provides experienced and professional opinions, communications, and leadership related to BIM and technology to HNTB as well as to our clients and partners.
Investigates and informs best practices for large teams and large project modeling, documentation, file sharing, and QA/QC.
Facilitates the development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM and design technology standards, including content libraries and templates.
Produces technical documentation of existing, new, and alternative workflows and modeling techniques.
Serves as first line of support for advanced, complex Revit/BIM software workflows and modeling.
Responsible for development of staff, including advanced skills training for key employees or groups (computational design, complex geometry modeling, environmental analysis, etc.
).
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or relevant degree.
5 years relevant experience BIM Management at an Architectural, Engineering, Construction or related firm What You'll Bring: Understands and anticipates the goals, needs, and expectations of project teams and clients.
