This ad is for Driver positions in TAG's Long Island, New Jersey & Manhattan, NY locations
Job brief:
We are looking for truck drivers to serve our commercial/residential moving and supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from warehouse, commercial site, retail and distribution centers or residential homes
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Confirm and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
Requirements:
• Class D license minimum.
(Training available to obtain B & A licenses)
Valid truck driving license (preferably B & A licenses)
• Assists/helps with the pick-up (loading), transportation, and delivery (unloading and placement) of commercial/logistic office goods/equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Routinely involves lifting, movement and placement of heavy items by hand or with the assistance of material handling equipment (hand-truck or dolly- Must be capable of lifting 50+ lbs)
• Adheres to all company policies and safety rules
• Represents the Company in a professional manner
• Ability to drive long hours and travel when needed
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Trucking school diploma is not required but preferred
• Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
• Must wear company-approved uniform and maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company and delivering service to customers.
