Job Summary:
The General Counsel is responsible for representing the company and providing legal advice and counsel to internal clients regarding all aspects of hospital operations.
The General Counsel may also have responsibilities related to other certain healthcare matters including contract negotiations, policies, and transactions.
The position will perform legal analysis and provide timely, effective and practical legal guidance in a fast-paced in- house setting.
Essential Functions:
Advice and Counsel
Provide legal advice and counsel regarding health care and general corporate legal issues affecting all areas of the CareWell Health systems operation, including employment, physician relationships, managed care arrangements, corporate law, governance, patient care and medico-legal issues, licensure, Medicare and Medicaid, medical staff matters, Corporate Compliance, Corporate Governance, and the broad range of regulatory matters affecting health care institutions.
Corporate Transactions
Assist in corporate transactions, including strategy development, negotiation and drafting of necessary documents.
Regulatory Matters:
Review, analyze and counsel regarding federal and state legislation (and governmental and judicial interpretations thereof) relevant to health care providers, including, but not limited to, Fraud and Abuse, Stark, Anti-Kickback and Civil Monetary Penalty compliance, Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation.
Contract Drafting, Review, and Negotiation:
Review and draft a wide variety of contracts and other documents relating to all areas of the CareWell Health systems operation.

Minimum Education/Certifications:
Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school with a license to practice law in New Jersey or ability to become an active member in one year, and outstanding academic credentials
Minimum Work Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of experience in healthcare law or other applicable legal disciplines
