*EOE* *POSITION SUMMARY: *The Grant Manager will be responsible for the writing of grant applications, requests for proposals and reports, managing and creating a grants calendar to ensure deadlines are met, and provide on-going support to the Director of Operations with researching and identifying prospective funders, both private and government.
The Grant Writer must be able to write compelling, timely and data-driven proposals and reports, work with and present budgets thoughtfully within each proposal and report, and provide advisement on systems to put place to realize revenue growth.
*WRITING SAMPLE:* Applicants must submit a non-generic cover letter and resume for consideration in a WORD or PDF format.
In addition, to be considered applicants will need furnish a sample writing piece related to the position of Grant Writer.
Sample writing pieces that are not submitted will not be considered.
*PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):* * Manage a portfolio of both private and government funders who support after-schools and summer camps, community schools, community centers, and workforce development.
* Management and creation of a grant calendar to ensure the timely submission of all proposals, applications and reports for each governmental, foundation and individual funders.
* Work closely with the Director of Operations to gather relevant information in a timely fashion (written and visual) and translate data and facts * Work with Finance team on budgets and statements for proposals and reports * Lead the drafting of compelling letters of inquiry, concept papers, grant proposals, requests for proposals interim and final reports, and other requests for institutional funding * Creating internal systems that foster efficient data-gathering, timely submissions, and ongoing identification of prospect funding opportunities * Perform relevant research to identify grant opportunities and cultivation plans for prospective funders (private and government) * Works with the Director of Operations to prioritize funding opportunities * Monitors paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programming * Monitors and coordinates alongside the Director of Operations on grant compliance * Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
*JOB QUALIFICATIONS:* * Bachelors Degree, required; Master’s Degree and/or certification(s) in Institutional Development preferred * Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience with grant writing for non-profits, with a proven track record securing funding from governmental agencies, professional foundations are a plus * Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in grant writing related to NY State, NY City and Federal contracts * Experience using Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/ Google Suite * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work both independently and collaboratively * Willing to take initiative and be flexible when needed * Multi-tasker with the ability to work under pressure and manage concurrent deadlines * Effective organizational, time, and project management skills * Extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of social services, education, recreation, and workforce development * Ability to work both in person and remotely professionally and efficiently, with a flexible hybrid schedule *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: * The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
