VP of Development, Newark Beth Medical Center
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Development at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBI) is responsible for managing both a major donor and corporate portfolio, supervision of the Foundation team, and oversight of all Foundation initiatives and projects, including: financial management, grant submissions, annual fund giving campaigns, design and implementation of donor recognition and stewardship programs, correspondence, solicitation, and other fund-raising materials.
Oversees special events and implementation of other special projects as they relate to raising funds for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
Reports to:
The Vice President of Development at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center dually reports to the system s Chief Development Officer and the President and CEO at NBI.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversight of Foundation Team
Supervise staff and ensure high reliability of professional standards for Foundation programs and materials
Ensure that all donor information is entered into NXT
Financial Management
Ensure revenue and expense goals are met
Work with affiliate CFO and department leaders to identify capital projects and program funding needs
Manage foundation funds and distributions
Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of major donors and corporations to maximize engagement and year over year fundraising
Development and review of proposals, collateral, and written donor materials
Research, write, and submit detailed, well-written and accurate letters, proposals, stewardship reports, brochures, etc.
Grants Program
Work with Corporate & Foundation Relations Grants team to develop a grants program for public and private funding that syncs with NBI s clinical, capital, and community program needs
Supervise Annual Giving Plan communications and other corporate media communication opportunities
Collaborate with RWJBH Corp/ Central Team and NBI Marketing on yearly messaging to donors, patients and community
Execute ongoing review of process and analysis of data
Oversight and Management of Special Projects
Management and oversight of special projects for the Foundation
Ensures resourcing, timelines and implementation of special projects and cultivation events as they relate to raising funds for the Foundation
Projects include: Partners in Progress, Grateful Patient Program, and Planned Giving
Job Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree required
Minimum of seven (7) years progressive relevant experience, including securing six and seven figure gifts, ideally in a healthcare environment
Experience with Raiser s Edge software preferred
