The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a leadership role who is responsible for the club's overall production and weekend success.
This candidate will assist a Senior General Manager to ensure that the club meets or exceeds financial goals as well as training and directing all club employees.
This role is a temporary training position to prepare our future General Mangers.
The Senior General Manager will evaluate this candidates growth on a weekly and monthly basis with the District Vice President, specifically on the leadership qualities one must possess in the position, performance, as well as the ability to adapt to our culture and business plan.
Based on this candidates influence and performance, one can expect to step into a General Manager role as soon as three months but no longer than 12 months.
This is an appointed role for internal and external candidates with high potential.
Once in the role, we will expect this candidate's continued support with company initiatives to help generate new sales leads for continued membership growth as well as executing directives without hesitation or alteration.
Responsibilities and Duties
Set productivity goals through "VCLASS" to achieve weekly, monthly and yearly objectives.
Focus on daily key performance indicators to drive profitability.
Weekend percentages on goal no less than the company's waterline of 60%.
Achieve 50% or higher health club membership closing ratio.
Assist the Senior GM with development of weekly game plans to ensure revenue is 10% v.
SMLY and LM bankable gross/eft.
Generate sales reports and understand critical numbers to impact your business.
Daily review and report to Sr.
GM in areas of concern through reading the clubs dashboard.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, motivate, direct, coach and regularly evaluate all club staff.
Be actively involved in our community outreach program and ensuring club participation.
Knowledge on corporate wellness programs and how companies of any size can benefit from such investments.
Exceptional internal marketing and relationship building through our "gym orphan" program as well as assisting members with their concerns.
Excellent supervisory, interpersonal communication, and time management skill.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software.
Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines both independently and within a team environment.
Ability to make decisions easily and quickly/Be a proactive leader, never reactive.
Ability to adapt and excel in an ever-changing environment with the ability to sets goals, track progress, and strives for growth based on those changes.

Strong external relationships with local business owners and management.
Constant inspection to make certain the club meets all company standards for the "Perfect Product" in cleanliness, maintenance, organized and well maintained appearance.
Coach sales process daily with sales associates.
Ability to identify and problem solve, set expectations, goals and delegate tasks.
Ability to effectively communicate expectations to staff and create a winning culture.
Possess excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills.
Must be enthusiastic, energetic, personable and friendly as well as passionate.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualified candidates must have proven leadership ability in an educational, fitness or professional settings with 2 plus years of management experience in a customer service or sales.
Previous sales experience required
Management experience required.
Advertising, hospitality or marketing experience preferred.
Strong professional presentation, technical ability and relationship building.
Excellent trainer and motivator.
Ideal candidate will be passionate, knowledgeable, and have a personal commitment to health and wellness.
College education preferred.
