Job Summary:
This position is responsible for Commercial New Sales activity in the 2-100 segment of Horizon BCBSNJ and / or its subsidiaries.
This position develops new prospects and establishes relationships with existing customers and / or Brokers to produce new sales.
Serve as the market facing lead for the oversight of assigned Master Brokers and their annual sales objectives.
Accountable for Master Broker bonus management.
Facilitates the enrollment process for new groups and/or individuals/Brokers.
Processes between 300-500 new business RFPs on an annual basis
Develops prospective accounts and clients.
Maintains and develops broker and consultant relationships.
Ensures clients and brokers are informed of relevant legislative and regulatory issues and their associated impact.
Responds to Request for Proposal (RFPs) and produces sales proposals in conjunction with the proposal team.
Contributes ideas to management on improving marketing and sales efforts.
Participates in ongoing sales training to enhance skills in group insurance, presentation skills, and products.
Works closely with Account Managers on new business implementation.
Develops contacts to produce sales.
Completes internal management reports as required.
Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times, both internally and externally.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations and policies that pertain to the organizational units business and conforms with these laws, regulations and policies
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required
Bachelor degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree
Requires a minimum of four years (4) of professional sales or contract negotiation experience, preferably in the health insurance industry, with a documented track record of success.
Additional licensing, certifications, registrations:
Requires a New Jersey State Health/Life License.
Knowledge:
Must be proficient and possess advanced skills in the use of personal computers and supporting software in a Windows based environment, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes; Should be knowledgeable in the use of intranet and internet applications.
Requires knowledge of Group Health products lines including Managed Care and Dental.
Requires knowledge of rating and policy renewal practices for all Funding mechanisms, i.
e.
, fully insured prospective group, minimum premium, and ASO.
Prefers knowledge of Horizon BCBSNJ products, underwriting policies, enrollment, billing, and claims processing procedures.

Salary Range:
$67,200 - $82,950
This position is eligible for sales incentive compensation in addition to base pay.
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
