We are looking for 2 Field Health Benefit Counselors
Start Date: February 14th
This is an hybrid position in office and field work required.
Shift 8a-5p M-F (40 hr/wk)

Position Purpose: Reports directly to the Field Services Supervisor.
Conducts presentations throughout the community on NJ Family Care Program.
Will meet with groups or individuals.
Provides courteous and accurate information on NJ Family Care, can assist beneficiaries in providing program and managed care information, and enrollment and eligibility assistance for potential and existing NJ Family Care beneficiaries.
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conduct presentations to educate consumers about the New Jersey Family Care and New Jersey 2000+ programs and the benefits of managed care.
Assist consumers with completing new and renewal applications and Plan Selection Forms.
Enter application and Plan Selection Forms information into a web-based computer system as needed.
Conduct home visits to assist individuals with the application/renewal and enrollment process and to answer questions about the program.
Build relationships with the community, advocacy groups and CWA offices in their assigned areas.
Provide coverage at community events and health fairs where program education may occur.
Provide clear, complete, accurate and objective information based on full understanding of program requirements.
Research inquiries as needed.
Participate in training activities as needed
Participate in and contributes to the quality improvement process.
Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the NJ Family Care rules/guidelines and other related program policies.
Report any technical problems with equipment, systems, or facilities to Outreach Manager
Other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
Job Requirements
Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
(Preferred)
Two (2) minimum experience in a healthcare field.
Knowledge and operational experience in Medicaid and/or CHIP programs a plus.
General knowledge of public health, managed care, human services systems and local and statewide political systems preferred.
Experience working with people representing diverse backgrounds, preferred.
Required skills/abilities

Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, flexibility under pressure
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Capable of working independently
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Bilingual capabilities a plus
Ability to interpret and apply program policies and procedures as appropriate
Ability to use basic arithmetic procedures in order to determine household size and income and determine program eligibility.
Ability to apply logical reasoning in order to make timely, effective decisions.
