The Donor Stewardship Officer's primary responsibility will be to recruit new individuals and teams to participate in CHNJ Sleep Out events focusing on Community Editions and Women Unite Sleep Out Editions.
The position will also require research to identify previously untapped markets for sleep-outs; conducting outreach to companies, industries, and special interest groups to pitch Sleep Out.
The Donor Stewardship Officer will also work to improve the existing recruitment streams, partnering with the Senior Development Director, the Special Events Coordinator, and CHNJ’s Volunteer Coordinator.
Activities and efforts include marketing, shaping, and influencing the Sleep Out brand.
Duties and responsibilities
Promote Covenant House NJ and recruit for Sleep Out year-round to maximize participation and fundraising.
Travel throughout New Jersey and work evenings and weekends as needed (will include attendance at all CHNJ Sleep Outs).
Lead recruiter for Sleep Out: Women Unite
Lead and grow CHNJ’s Women Unite program board
Develop and implement an engagement plan to cultivate, educate, inspire, and solicit corporate contacts, community leaders, and other prospects to build Sleep Out participation.
Identify all participants with the capacity to become team captains.
Secure a minimum of 75 first-time New Jersey Sleep Out participants in the first year at our state-wide Sleep Outs.
Manage a portfolio of 50 past Sleepout participants, asking for financial support.
Collaborate with SDD to identify and connect to donors in areas of high wealth where CHNJ is present.
Regularly solicit, coordinate and give presentations to all levels of leadership at various events, companies, and special interest groups to identify new participant channels.
Execute a portfolio of community-based events and optimize existing activities.
Set and achieve goals set for each event and ongoing cultivation.
Improve and develop effective marketing tools, materials, and resources, working with the editing team to ensure accurate and grammatically correct content.
Check email & voicemail daily, being responsive as needed.
Must maintain donor records, including all contacts with donors in Sales Force.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:

A valid New Jersey driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
Qualifications
Must have 3-5 years of fundraising and/or development experience.
Sales and Marketing background a plus.
Must have examples of proven success and accomplishments in development, marketing or sales, running campaigns and securing fundraising, or other relevant experience.
Must have experience planning, leading, and managing projects, including tracking and reporting progress to stakeholders and leadership.
Must be computer literate and proficient in Google G-Suite, SalesForce, Microsoft Office, and Social Media/Sharing Channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Vimeo).
Knowledge of Sales Force.
Beginner-level knowledge of graphic design software a plus (Photoshop, Canva, etc.
).
